1. Your first visit starts with a conversation. Your chiropractor will typically begin by asking about your current concerns. You will at this time discuss your discomforts, when and where your symptoms occur, what makes them better or worse and how they affect your daily life.

You will then be asked to disclose any medical conditions you may have and or any presciption medications you are currently taking as they infirmation will be beneficial to your care. This conversation helps your chiropractor understand and determine the next appropriate steps.

2. A Physical Examination, depending on your sympotms and health history, your chiropractor may perform a physical examination. This can include assessing posture, range of motion, muscle function, and movement patterns. The goal is to gather information that can help identify potential musculoskeletal contributotors to your symptoms and determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate.

3. The Adjustment, only if advised for the initial visit.

Questions you may have:

Will I need X-Rays?

Not every chiropractic clinic needs X-Rays or other sources of imaging. If imaging is clinically suggested, your chiropractor may refer you out to the appropraite imaging center to obtain such imaging. Imaging should be based on your individual symptoms, examination findings, and health history rather than being automatically performed on every patient.

Will I Get an Adjustment on My First Visit?

This depends on your individual situation. After reviewing your history and examination findings, your chiropractor can explain wheteher an adjustment or another form of care is appropriate. In some cases, treatment may begin during the first appointment. In other situatiions, additional evaluation may be recommended first.

Does a Chiropractic Adjustment Hurt?

Many people tolerate chiropratcic adjustments well, although experiences can vary. Some techniques amy producea brief sensation of pressure or movement, and some people experience temporary soreness afterward. If you're uncomfortable eith a particular technique or have concerns about treatment communicate this with your chirorpractor. Your care can be modified to your comfort level.

Your Treatment Plan is Individualized

There is no single treatment plan that works for everyone. Your chiropractor may recommend a combination of hands-on care, therapeutic exercises, stretching, activity modifications, or other strategies depending on your symptoms and goals.
